Personalized care for menopause, hormone deficiency, and healthy aging

Feel more like yourself—with a treatment plan built around your symptoms, medical history, and goals.

Hormonal changes can affect comfort, sexual health, sleep, and quality of life. At Lionheart Longevity & Wellness, a personalized hormone consultation can help determine whether hormone therapy, a nonhormonal treatment, or another approach is appropriate for you.

Our approach connects medical evaluation with practical support for strength, nutrition, physical activity, and long-term well-being.

What Is Bioidentical Hormone Therapy?

Bioidentical hormones have the same molecular structure as hormones naturally produced by the human body. Examples include estradiol, progesterone, and testosterone.

“Bioidentical” describes the hormone’s structure. It does not mean a treatment is risk-free, more effective, or safer than other hormone therapies.

Several FDA-approved medications contain bioidentical hormones. When appropriate approved products are available, they are generally preferred over compounded preparations. Compounded hormones are not FDA-approved and may be considered when a specific medical need cannot be met by an approved product.

Hormone Care for Women

Perimenopause and menopause can bring changes that affect everyday life. Depending on your symptoms and medical history, treatment may help address:

  • Hot flashes and night sweats.
  • Vaginal dryness, irritation, and discomfort during intimacy.
  • Sleep disruption associated with menopausal symptoms.
  • Menopause-related bone loss, when hormone therapy is appropriate.

Options may include systemic estradiol delivered through a patch, gel, or other prescribed formulation, or low-dose vaginal estrogen for localized symptoms.

Women with a uterus who use systemic estrogen generally also need progesterone or another appropriate form of endometrial protection. Your clinician will explain the options and recommend a plan suited to your needs.

Fatigue, mood changes, weight changes, and difficulty concentrating can have many causes. A careful evaluation helps avoid attributing every symptom to hormones.

Testosterone Evaluation for Men

Low sexual desire, fewer spontaneous erections, reduced strength, or persistent fatigue may warrant evaluation. These symptoms can also result from sleep disorders, medications, depression, or other medical conditions.

A diagnosis of testosterone deficiency requires compatible symptoms and consistently low testosterone levels, typically confirmed with two separate early-morning blood tests.

For men with an appropriate medical indication, testosterone therapy may improve selected symptoms. Treatment requires ongoing monitoring and a discussion of fertility, blood pressure, blood counts, prostate health, and other individual considerations.

Testosterone can suppress sperm production. Tell your clinician if you are planning to have children.

Your Personalized Treatment Journey

1. Understand Your Symptoms

Your consultation reviews your concerns, health history, medications, family history, sleep, lifestyle, and reproductive goals.

2. Test When Clinically Appropriate

Testing is selected to answer specific medical questions. Not everyone needs an extensive hormone panel. Menopause can often be diagnosed from symptoms and menstrual history, and saliva testing is not routinely recommended to customize menopausal hormone dosing.

3. Review Your Options

Your clinician discusses expected benefits, risks, treatment alternatives, and available formulations. A prescription is recommended only when medically appropriate.

4. Monitor and Adjust

Follow-up visits assess symptom response, side effects, and any necessary testing. Treatment is periodically reassessed, with the dose and duration individualized to your needs.

The Lionheart Approach: Support Beyond Hormones

Hormone care works within a broader health plan. Depending on your goals, clinical suitability, and local availability, your care team may discuss:

Strength and Muscle Performance

Resistance exercise, adequate protein, and regular physical activity are central to maintaining muscle health.

For eligible individuals, BodStim™ electrical muscle stimulation may be considered as an addition to exercise within the specific device’s cleared indications and safety requirements. It is not a treatment for hormone deficiency or a substitute for prescribed hormone therapy.

Sexual and Pelvic Health

Sexual concerns may involve hormones, circulation, pelvic-floor function, medications, or relationship factors. Evaluation can help identify appropriate treatment or specialist referral.

Lionheart’s FemStim™ and ErectiStim™ programs are investigational for their specific sexual-health applications. Participation, where available, requires an appropriate research pathway, eligibility screening, and informed consent.

Nutrition, Sleep, and Metabolic Health

Your plan may include practical guidance on nutrition, movement, sleep, and weight management to support overall well-being.

Klotho and Healthy-Aging Research

Lionheart’s Klotho-related research reflects our interest in muscle health and healthy aging. These investigational approaches have not been established as treatments for hormone deficiency or as proven ways to improve hormone therapy outcomes.

Any optional Lionheart service is evaluated separately for its evidence, regulatory status, and suitability for you.

Benefits, Risks, and Realistic Expectations

For appropriately selected patients, hormone therapy can provide meaningful symptom relief. Benefits and risks depend on the hormone, dose, delivery method, age, timing, and medical history.

Systemic menopausal hormone therapy may increase the risk of blood clots, stroke, gallbladder disease, and certain cancers, depending on the regimen and individual circumstances. A history of hormone-sensitive cancer, unexplained vaginal bleeding, blood clots, stroke, or liver disease may affect eligibility.

Testosterone therapy can cause elevated red blood cell counts, increased blood pressure, acne, reduced fertility, and other adverse effects.

Hormone therapy is not an established treatment for extending lifespan, reversing aging, or preventing dementia or cardiovascular disease.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are bioidentical hormones natural?

Some are manufactured using plant-derived starting materials, but they are processed into prescription medications. “Natural” does not establish safety or effectiveness.

Do I need compounded hormones or pellets?

Not necessarily. FDA-approved bioidentical options are available. Your clinician will discuss formulations that meet your needs, including how easily treatment can be adjusted or stopped.

Can hormone therapy help me lose weight?

Hormone therapy is not a weight-loss treatment. Changes in weight or body composition deserve a broader evaluation and a personalized nutrition and activity plan.

Does everyone need hormone therapy as they age?

No. Treatment depends on symptoms, a valid medical indication, personal preferences, and an individualized assessment of benefits and risks.

Can Lionheart technology replace hormone medication?

Lionheart technologies have not been established as replacements for medically indicated hormone therapy. Selected services may address separate wellness goals or be available through clinical research.
