/ – THE COMPANY

About this Venture

Discover our background, mission, and the world-class research driving our next-generation medical technology.

Corporate Mission & Philosophy

BioLeonhardt is the only company dedicated to total and complete heart regeneration. We believe in regenerating hearts the way they are built in the first place—with bioelectric signaling, stem cells, and a host of support agents!

Our team believes that previous heart regeneration studies with one-time injections of naked stem cells alone were woefully inadequate and not nearly enough to reverse heart failure. We believe what is needed is:

  1. Repeat Deliveries: Daily, weekly, or monthly slow micro-pump infusion deliveries of not only muscle stem cells but a full composition of support factors (growth factors, exosomes, alkaloids, micro RNAs, nutrient hydrogel, follistatin, SDF-1, and matrix).
  2. Bioelectric Stimulation: Stimulation of heart regeneration promoting proteins (19+) plus bioelectric real-time inflammation management.

Bioelectric Innovation: Reversing Fibrosis

BioLeonhardt uses bioelectric stimulation designed to reverse remodel failing hearts. Our patented bioelectric stimulation sequences are designed to not only stave off fibrosis but reverse it, converting previous fibrotic scar tissue into new beating, pumping muscle—even in the depths of myocardial scar tissue!

  • Homing & Differentiation: Patented bioelectric signal sequences for homing, proliferating, and differentiation of stem cells.
  • Inflammation Management: Patent-pending bioelectric signal sequences for real-time reading, managing, and modulation of inflammation—a key to recovering from advanced heart failure.
  • Protein Expression: Patent-pending sequences for Follistatin (the most powerful protein for muscle regeneration) and Tropoelastin (for increasing elasticity of heart muscle, the aorta, and arteries).

Unmatched Research Team Experience

Our team has established what it believes is the industry’s most comprehensive and advanced technology platform portfolio. Our history of “firsts” includes:

  • 1988: Completed our first muscle stem cell heart regeneration studies in large animals.
  • 1999: Published our first bioelectric regeneration paper in CIRCULATION (Journal of the American Heart Association).
  • 2001: Led the group that completed the historic landmark first-ever non-surgical muscle stem cell repair of a human heart (published in the Journal of American College of Cardiology in 2003).

Total Regeneration Platform Strategy

BioLeonhardt is a world leader in developing innovative heart regeneration therapies. Our integrated platform includes:

  • Bioelectric Stimulator & Signals: Precise control of regeneration proteins and managing inflammation.
  • Micro Infusion Pump: Developed over 5 years with over $2 million in NSF SBIR grant support.
  • BL-15 Composition: A fifteen-component heart regeneration composition.
  • Integrated Assist: We believe results in advanced heart failure can be improved with the addition of Second Heart Assist, Inc. (www.secondheartinc.com) chronic wireless powered implant circulatory assist pumps to reduce heart workload during the 36-month regeneration course.

The Ultimate Team Alliance: All-Star Partners

/ – THE TECHNOLOGY

The Technology behind it

Discover the science and innovation driving our advanced solutions, designed to deliver safe, effective, and transformative results.

Bioelectric Stimulation for Heart Regeneration

Our core technology utilizes a Quarter-size micro implant stimulator, typically implanted in the chest or abdomen like a traditional pacemaker.

  • Integration: Bioelectric heart regeneration programs can be loaded into standard CRT/ICD pacers.
  • Delivery: 1st generation uses one lead to the center of the myocardial scar. Future iterations utilize non-invasive temporal interference technologies.

Patented & Patent-Pending Bioelectric Signals and Sequences

We utilize precise sequences for the controlled release of regeneration-promoting proteins and real-time inflammation management:

  1. SDF-1: Stem cell homing signal.
  2. IGF-1: DNA repair and regeneration.
  3. HGF / EGF / PDGF: Regeneration and stem cell homing.
  4. VEGF / CCXL5 / HIF1a: New and mature blood vessel growth (Angiogenesis).
  5. eNOS: Blood vessel dilatation.
  6. Follistatin: Muscle regeneration (the most powerful protein for recovery).
  7. Tropoelastin: Increasing tissue elasticity in the heart muscle and arteries.
  8. ILs: Real-time inflammation reading and management.
  9. GDF-10 & 11 / Activin A+B: Cellular regeneration.
  10. Stem Cell Proliferation & Differentiation: Transforming cells into beating, pumping muscle.
  11. Blood Pressure Management: Post-regeneration hemodynamic control.

Micro Infusion Pump

The second pillar of our platform is a high-precision micro-infusion pump, tested and developed over the last 5 years with over $2 million in NSF Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant support.

  • Function: Provides precise, slow-infusion delivery of our heart regeneration composition directly to the targeted site.
  • Frequency: Enables repeat daily, weekly, or monthly deliveries, which we believe is essential for cell retention and survival.

BL-15 Heart Regeneration Composition

The BL-15 is a sophisticated, fifteen-component mixed stem cell-based composition designed to provide the heart with everything it needs to rebuild. Composition components:

  1. Stem Cells & Immature Myoblasts: The cellular foundation for new muscle.
  2. Selected Exosomes & Micro RNAs: For cellular communication and repair instructions.
  3. Amniotic Fluid: Chock full of over 200 growth factors.
  4. Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF): Providing slow-release growth factors.
  5. Selected Alkaloids: Such as tetraharmine.
  6. Nutrient Engineered Hydrogel: To improve cell survival and retention.
  7. Growth Factors: Including Follistatin, Tropoelastin, IGF-1, and PDGF.
  8. Heart Matrix: Providing the structural scaffold for new tissue growth.

The Biological Mechanism: Transforming Scar Tissue into Muscle

Our platform does more than just supply cells; it “instructs” them through a sophisticated bio-electric micro-environment. BioLeonhardt utilizes patented bioelectric signals designed to govern the three critical phases of regeneration: Homing (recruiting stem cells to the site of injury), Proliferation (stimulating cellular growth), and Differentiation (programming immature myoblasts to become functional, beating heart muscle).

This synergy is powered by the BL-15 composition, which integrates selected exosomes, microRNAs, and nutrient-engineered hydrogels. Together, these components work to reverse remodeling in the failing heart, effectively converting rigid, non-functional fibrotic scar tissue into elastic, pumping muscle. This process mimics the natural embryonic development of heart tissue to achieve total cardiac recovery.

University of Utah Partnership: Validating Protein Expression

The credibility of BioLeonhardt technology is anchored in rigorous, university-level scientific research. A landmark study conducted in collaboration with the University of Utah Department of Bioengineering has statistically validated the efficacy of our signaling platform. The data demonstrates that our specific bioelectric sequences can stimulate a 400% increase in Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) mRNA expression.

VEGF is the essential protein responsible for Angiogenesis—the growth of new, healthy blood vessels. As the heart muscle regenerates, it requires an increased supply of oxygen and nutrients to survive. Our system bioelectrically ensures this vascular support is present, sustaining the heart through the entire 36-month regeneration course. This research poster serves as a definitive biological proof-of-concept for our “Signals + Biologics” approach.
