About this Venture

Discover our background, mission, and the world-class research driving our next-generation medical technology.

Strategic Innovation: Patented Technology

DepressiStim represents a breakthrough in psychiatric care. It is a patented platform that goes beyond traditional stimulation by adding controlled protein expression to the treatment of depression, anxiety, and PTSD.

Strategic Value Proposition

  • Rapid Impact: Treatment just 2X a week for 45 minutes can elevate circulating klotho levels by 150%.
  • Holistic Stimulation: Unlike competitors, DepressiStim targets the brain, nervous system, stomach, and muscle simultaneously.
  • Market Need: Addressing the 17-20 million Americans who develop depression each year.
  • Protein Control: New therapy that adds controlled protein expressions to elevate good mood and reverse depression.

Target Patients & Challenges

  • Psychiatric Disorders: Targeting patients with depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and PTSD.
  • Addressing Deficiencies: Solving the problem of patients having difficulty controlling negative emotions due to deficiencies in key mood-elevating proteins.

Prototypes & Development Status

  • Advanced Hardware: Development includes various brain-bands, electrode caps, and handheld control devices for clinical and potential home use.
  • Current Stage: (Caution: statistically significant controlled studies have not yet been performed to prove out this early stage therapy under development yet).

The Technology behind it

Discover the science and innovation driving our advanced solutions, designed to deliver safe, effective, and transformative results.

Technology & Mechanism

  • Bioelectric Stimulation for Treating Depression: The technique applies small amounts of pulsed electricity signals to the brain, stomach, muscle and nervous system.
  • Targeted Brain Support: Uses bioelectric stimulation to target key areas of the brain underachieved in people with depression.
  • Protein Expression: Designed to deliver to the brain key proteins for healthy brain function and mood, including klotho, endorphins, serotonin, and norepinephrine.
  • Innovative Breakthrough: It is the first therapeutic platform that uses specific bioelectric signaling sequences to control specific protein expressions known to help control mood, anxiety and depression.

Common questions

Mild bioelectric stimulation controlled protein expressions for improving mood and treating depression and anxiety.

Over 16 million people in the United States alone suffer of major depressive disorders which is identified as a leading cause of disability worldwide.

A significant portion of people living with major depression do not get any relief from existing treatments. 30 percent of those affected by depression have an intractable form of the condition deemed un-treatable by traditional methods.

Only properly controlled and statistically significant clinical trials that have not been conducted yet will answer that question but we believe from examining other similar studies that successful results will primarily be seen among those with moderate to severe depression with less of an effect or perhaps no effect on people with mild depression. We are working to design therapies that will also address mild depression and will report results of initial testing at a later date.

Bioelectric stimulation plus repeat infusions of a mixed composition of biologics for treating severe depression. In early stages of development. Biologics mix may include any of stem cells, selected growth factors, selected alkaloids such as tetraharmine, exosomes, secretome from amniotic sourcing, stromal fraction from adipose tissue, micro RNA gel, nutrient hydrogel, oxygenated nanoparticles, Wharton’s jelly, bioelectric pre-treated PRF and matrix. Stem cells may include hypoxia treated and klotho expressing MSCs. Stimulation electrodes may include impregnated gel with therapeutic serums added.

May be applied to any or all of the following target locations – (1) The orbitofrontal cortex of the brain. (2) The stomach gut microbiota. (3) Ear lobes connecting to the vagus nerve network. (4) The temples. (5) Selected electro-acupuncture points. (6) Over and through the kidneys. (7) Thigh muscles, (8) Back nerve and spine points.

Our bioelectric signals induce an increase of klotho release into the circulation. We also add Klotho expressing cells to our biologics mix. Klotho is an anti-aging protein that has been found to improve mood. People and animals with lower levels of klotho exhibit higher levels of depression. Many of the phenomena seen in Klotho-deficient mice occur in depressive illness, major depression and bipolar disorder represent illnesses potentially associated with Klotho dysregulation. Klotho has an effect on reducing chronic systemic inflammation which may be associated with depression and anxiety. Klotho has demonstrated an ability to improve symptoms of dementia which may be linked to depression.
