Lionheart Health Launches Breakthrough Neuropathy Relief Study Combining Bioelectric Signaling, Klotho Pathways, and Multi-Modal Therapy Platform

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., May 5th, 2026 — Lionheart Health, Inc., a leader in bioelectric regenerative medicine and longevity therapeutics, today announced the launch of its Neuropathy Regeneration Study, a multi-center clinical program evaluating a novel combination therapy platform designed to restore nerve function rather than simply manage symptoms.

Peripheral neuropathy affects over 20 million Americans and is characterized by chronic pain, numbness, tingling, and progressive loss of function. Current standard-of-care treatments largely focus on symptom control, leaving the underlying nerve degeneration unaddressed.

Lionheart’s new study takes a fundamentally different approach.

“We believe neuropathy is not just a pain condition — it is a regenerative failure,” said Howard J. Leonhardt, Executive Chairman and Co-CEO of Lionheart Health. “Our platform is designed to re-activate the body’s own repair mechanisms, including key regenerative proteins such as Klotho, BDNF, and GDF family signals, using targeted bioelectric stimulation combined with advanced therapies.”

Study Overview

The Lionheart Neuropathy Regeneration Study™ will evaluate a multi-modal therapeutic platform integrating:

  • Bioelectric Protein Expression™ (proprietary signaling technology)
  • Class IV laser therapy (photobiomodulation)
  • Red light therapy
  • Neuromuscular stimulation
  • Neurovascular circulation optimization
  • Optional regenerative enhancements including:
    • bioelectric-enhanced peptides
    • platelet-rich fibrin (PRF)
    • adipose-derived biologics
    • Klotho-targeted protocols

The study is designed to assess improvements in:

  • neuropathic pain (VAS scores)
  • nerve function and sensation
  • gait speed and balance
  • quality of life metrics

Targeting Regenerative Biology

At the core of the study is Lionheart’s Nerve Regeneration Patent Platform™, focused on bioelectric activation of key repair pathways including:

  • Klotho
  • BDNF
  • IGF-1 (controlled dosing)
  • GDF10 and GDF11
  • Sonic Hedgehog
  • SDF-1 and PDGF
  • LIM muscle protein
  • Sestrins and Sirtuins

These pathways are associated with:

  • axonal regeneration
  • neurovascular repair
  • stem cell homing
  • mitochondrial function
  • inflammation modulation

Scientific Rationale

A growing body of peer-reviewed research supports the biological mechanisms underlying Lionheart’s approach:

  • Photobiomodulation has been shown to enhance nerve regeneration and reduce neuropathic pain
  • Growth factors such as BDNF, IGF-1, and GDF11 support axonal growth and functional recovery
  • SDF-1 and PDGF are associated with tissue repair and progenitor cell recruitment
  • Sestrins and sirtuins play roles in oxidative stress reduction and chronic pain modulation
  • Klotho has been linked to neuroprotection and systemic anti-aging pathways

A New Category of Care

Unlike conventional neuropathy clinics that rely primarily on laser therapy and circulation support, Lionheart’s platform integrates bioelectric control of protein expression with regenerative biology, creating what the company believes represents a new category of care:

“This is not just another neuropathy program,” Leonhardt added. “This is a shift toward true neuro-regenerative medicine — combining energy, biology, and signaling to restore function at the source.”

Study Enrollment

The study is now enrolling patients at select Lionheart-affiliated clinics across the United States.

Participants will undergo:

  • baseline evaluation
  • structured multi-modal therapy sessions
  • ongoing functional and symptom tracking
